Wing-tip Shoes

Marlboro Summer Sale Portrait #52
I was helping with set-up. One person brought in boxes and boxes of shoes in wonderful shape, maybe not ever even used before. We were frantic with so many shoes, and began opening all boxes decided which to keep, all pumps in all colors - then I opened it, a box taking me back to my grandmother! Her shoes - I think they are called wing tips - I was thrilled, I am always searching for some. Black and white and they fit! I was over-the-top excited then opened the next box. EXACTLY THE SAME WING TIPS ONLY IN RED AND WHITE. Totally fits my personality. Nana you are with me!

Shimmery Funk Shirt

Marlboro Summer Sale Portrait #49
There is a running joke between me and an old friend. It goes: you walk into the clothing section of the rummage sale and find the most far-out, funkadelic piece of clothing, pay a dollar, and return to the outside world spiffier than ever before. This year, well... it is a good year for me.

After a crushing defeat in the race to the White House in 2008, John McCain starts his slow descent to cat owning spinsterhood. Strapped closely to his bosom is his cat, Bruce, as together they meet the urban logger. Friendship ensues.

Odds and Ends

Marlboro Summer Sale Portrait #44
Visiting VT from Brooklyn, I lived here last summer and worked on a farm and am thrilled to back for another Marlboro sale. Glass jars with lids for spices and tinctures and buttons, a red corduroy button down like one my mother has, a wool hat to remind me of Vermont. The basket was free.
