Because you find great things at the rummage sale. You got to dig! These were all buried. These were waiting for me.

Because I really Needed More Books

Marlboro Summer Sale Portrait #24
"Love's Gift" - 1907 book of love poems with an inscription written in shaky pencil "to my dear friend." My grandmother had a similar book that was her mother's, and I am hugely sentimental.

"In our Time" - Obsessed with Hemingway and Paris in 20s when he wrote this collection of stories, and just finished reading the book "The Paris Wife" about that time in his life.
"Bel Canto" - love Ann Patchett and hadn't read this one
"Berlin Diaries 1940-1945" - Diaries of Socialite caught up in Nazi Berlin and friends with those who tried to assassinate Hitler in July - should be intriguing. I love non-fiction especially people's memoirs and stories. The most extraordinary lives are often found in surprising places.
